How to get your blog site noticed?

Posted on October 31, 2018 at 11:11 pm

People start up a blog for many reasons; sometimes it is a way of directing traffic back to their main website, other times it may be to raise awareness of something or if the blog is attracted to their site, it may be a way of getting fresh and relevant content added to the site on a regular basis. If you have a standalone blog site then you will need to get it noticed in order to boost traffic. Some blog sites sell advertising space as a way of earning money from them, but you will need to prove to advertisers that your site has a good amount of traffic going to it in order to be able to sell ad space.

Social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook are a great way to share your blog posts. If you have a big community on your social media sites, then take advantage of this and share snippets from your blog site. Put a link to the full article on the social media post to increase visitors back to your web page. The beauty of social media is that your posts can also be shared by others so a good article can go out to thousands of people almost instantly.

You can do paid for advertising through Facebook etc but you can also do your own advertising through posts on your page. You will need to build up a community of followers and ensure that you are posting information regularly and that will be of interest to them.

Many small businesses run competitions on social media sites asking people to like and chare their page in order to be entered in to a prize draw.

Other ways to market your small business is through paid for ads on the search engine sites. If you only have a small budget you may be very restricted as to what keywords or phrases you can target but once you can see an increase in sales you may be able to invest a little more.
